Road and lane closures for the week of August 30, 2010

Various streets between Sutterville Road, Shielah Way, Freeport Boulevard and 23rd Street

Wednesday, September 1 through Sunday, October 3, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New sidewalk, curb and gutter near Leonardo Di Vinci Elementary school along with improvements to sidewalks and alleyways to make accessible for people with disabilities. Minimal traffic impacts expected with temporary lane closures throughout neighborhood.

DOWNTOWN

300 to 400 block of Richards Boulevard; Bannon Street between Bercut Drive and North 7th Street

August 18 through mid November

• During construction of the Greyhound Bus terminal, there will be a road closure to through traffic of Bannon Street between Bercut Drive and North 7th Street in front of Union Gospel Mission from Friday, August 27, through Wednesday, October 20. More info

• The sidewalk on the south side of Richards Boulevard in front of City offices at 300 Richards Boulevard will be closed through early October and the bus stop will be relocated a short distance west during this phase.

• A closure of the east entrance to the City facility at 300 Richards Boulevard. Access to and from the offices will be limited to the west side at Richards Boulevard and North 3rd Street through mid November.

NORTH SACRAMENTO

Main Avenue between Norwood Avenue and Rio Linda Boulevard

Wednesday, August 18 through Friday, September 17, with work hours Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Road closure to through traffic so the City Department of Utilities can install a new water transmission main to improve the reliability of water supply.

NATOMAS

Interstate 5 at Del Paso Road

Sunday, August 22 through mid January 2011, Monday through Friday, variable work hours

As part of the Natomas Finance Plan, improvements are being made to the highway ramps; ramp meters and traffic signals are being installed; bike lanes and signage are being added.

Expect periodic highway ramp closures at Del Paso Road for I-5 north and southbound on and off ramps. Drivers will be detoured to El Centro, Arena Boulevard and East Commerce Way.

Interstate 80 off ramps at West El Camino and vicinity

Monday, July 26 through November 2010.

Expect a detour around the eastbound I/80 off ramp, which will be closed, on Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. City is adding traffic signals to the freeway off ramps and improving pedestrian access with a new pathway. City is also replacing the deteriorating pavement, adding lighting new signage, striping and sidewalk on the north side of West El Camino Avenue between El Centro Road and Orchard Lane.

RIVER DISTRICT

Richards Boulevard and 7th Street vicinity

Now through early 2011

Expect periodic road and lane closures on 7th Street between H and Richards Boulevard. Regional Transit is constructing the first phase of the Green Line – between downtown and Township 9. The project will create approximately one mile of new light rail track on 7th Street, running from H Street northward to Richards Boulevard.

The Sacramento Area Sewer District is rehabilitating eight miles of severely corroded sewer pipelines. Noise, odor, lane closures and periodic traffic slowdowns along Franklin Boulevard are expected. For more information please visit the district website
